Live in Lexington
Originally recorded on July 11, 2008, Live in Lexington, Under the Copper Beech, was officially released on August 30, 2011. This is the band’s second live disc and gives a big nod to the fact that first and foremost, the myriad awards we have won for our studio recordings not withstanding, we truly consider ourselves a live band.
Live music, over time, tends to have an ebb and flow quality to...

Smiling Moon
I often get asked how the band started or more specifically, “how’d you guys meet.” Well….. (cue dreamy time sequence. Imagine me wearing cloths very similar to the cloths I wear now though I’m probably not wearing a tie-dye.)
Before graduating college, circa 1984, I was offered a job by Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) in Nashua, NH. I was definitely in the wave of computer science majors of...

The Ben Rudnick and Friends’ Tenth Anniversary Show is long over you say? Umm… yea, I know. Why am I writing about it now you ask? What took you so long you say? Well…
I know it’s been over four months since we played the show. There are a lot of reasons why this has taken...

It's Santa Claus!
Greetings Earthlings!
It’s been awhile since I wrote an entry. There has been so much going on in the BR&F world that I just couldn’t quite get to this blog. I’m back for the moment.
I’ll get straight to the heart of the matter, or the blog entry. We’ve got a new disc. It’s a Christmas/Holiday disc called It’s Santa Claus and it came out great. We put a lot more effort into making the disc...

Notes From The Summer
As I say so often “the beat goes on.” August is winding down, the summer has shown its hand and reluctantly thoughts now bend toward September and what is coming in the near future. Here’s a brief look at the summer from the BR&F point of view. I’ll write about the exciting things coming up in the next blog.

Colorado!
So I get an email from Nicole, someone I’ve never met who lives in Crested Butte, Colorado. The email said, “Come play here.” Nicole had seen our video for “A Frog Named Sam,” checked out our website and thought her fellow Coloradans would love us. I thought, “Okay, I’ll bite.” After a couple of back and forth emails, weeks of phone calls, another round of phone calls and basically what just has...

I Get Stuff
One of the neat things about being an artist of any kind is that work you do affects people in one way or another. Reactions can run the gamut from “love it” to “what was he thinking?” John Lennon’s primal scream therapy on his first solo album for example. Like it? Lift the needle (remember those) and go to the next song? Start screaming along? Or how about Coltrane...

Hello, I hope this finds you well! Every couple of years one of our recordings gets into a situation where it’s in some sort of competition and voting by the listening public (you!) is required. Our recent disc, A Frog Named Sam, is currently in a Nickelodeon competition to find music for kids and families. The question they pose is which discs “don’t drive you crazy?” We...

Christmas in June
Okay… okay… I know you’re saying “Christmas in June, Ben’s off his rocker,” well that may be true but in this case let me explain. Last December, the folks at Sirius/XM Radio’s Kids Place Live station requested that artists played on their station (which I’m happy to say includes my friends and I) send in a recorded greeting of some kind saying why you like Christmas. So, together with my trusty...

Introductions
Hello,
Welcome to Ben’s World. I’ll be using this space to post news, views and insights concerning Ben Rudnick and Friends (BR&F). It’s a pretty exciting time in BR&F history. We’ve just:
released our seventh recording, A Frog Named Sam on March 24, 2009
completed a very soon to be public video for the song, A Frog Named Sam
will have said Sam disc reviewed in People Magazine’s May...
